Jr NTR Says His Acting Style in War 2 Conflicted With Ayan Mukerji's Style: 'Aditya Chopra Was There...'
Jr NTR is working with Ayan Mukerji on War 2. It is rumoured that he is playing a villain in the spy film.

Jr NTR opened up about working with Ayan Mukerji in War 2 in a chat with Karan Johar. The Devara star had a sit down with Karan and Alia Bhatt, where they discussed Devara, Jigra and several other topics about the film industry. It was during one such subject that Tarak brought up War 2. In the film, Jr NTR is rumoured to be playing a negative role while Hrithik Roshan headlines the film.

Speaking about the different work styles of different directors, Jr NTR noted that most filmmakers in the South do not prep a lot during the pre-production period and he follows the same school of thought. However, Ayan believes in long prepping cycles before he starts filming. As a result, their ideologies clashed and Aditya Chopra had to step in.

“Too much of prep doesn’t give you the chance to explore yourself. South Indian films (sets) have always been chaotically organised. Like, if the prints have to go tomorrow, the team will still ask for one extra hour because they want to make some changes in the edit. The clock is ticking, the prints have to be delivered, but you’re still working on the film,” Jr NTR said.

He added, “You are shooting for a crazy sequence tomorrow, but everybody is so chill, we are not prepping at all. We know what needs to be done. I think it is the chaos which brings a great amount of organisation and somewhere that makes us more instinctive as artistes.”

He said it depends from director to director when he brought up Ayan as an example. “This was the experience I had with Hindi cinema also. When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what’s going to come. Because he was trying to bring it out from me, that how is this going to come out,” he said.

“I told him, ‘Ayan I am very instinctive, kuch na kuch aa jayega (something will come).’ Now, he is not used to do this at all, he loves prep and I am completely the opposite. And then Adi sir was there in between, who said, ‘It’s ok, it’s ok, I get it,’” he added.

War 2 will mark Jr NTR’s first Hindi film. Fans are eager to see what he brings on the table. Meanwhile, he will be seen headlining Devara, which is set to release this weekend.
