Inside Out 2: Can Joy, Anger, Fear And Disgust Save Riley From Anxiety’s Evil Plan?
The Inside Out 2 trailer kicks off with familiar emotions, Joy, Anger, Fear and Disgust, but soon introduces Anxiety, along with Envy, Boredom and Embarrassment.

Pixar just dropped a brand new trailer of Inside Out 2. While Anxiety was shown in the first look, the trailer introduces new emotions like Envy, Boredom and Embarrassment. Paul Walter Hauser, Ayo Edebiri and Adele Exarchopoulos give voice to these emotions as Riley goes through her teenage years. The trailer kicks off with our familiar emotions, Joy, Anger, Fear and Disgust, but soon Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, brings more chaos with her. An unexpected turn sees the original emotions trapped in bottles due to Anxiety’s rule change. Operation New Riley comes into action, as the new emotions take charge, but the ride isn’t smooth. Somehow, Joy, Anger, Fear and Disgust break free and they go on a mission to help Riley. For the sequel, Tony Hale and Liza Lapira step in as Fear and Disgust, replacing Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, respectively.

The trailer also features more emotions in the minds of teenagers. Lilimar Hernandez lends her voice to a high school hockey player admired by everyone, including Riley and her friends. Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan return as Riley’s mom and dad. Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green and Grace Lu voice Riley’s besties, while Yvette Nicole Brown brings Coach Roberts, the leader of a hockey camp, to life. The cast also includes Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, Paula Pell, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Kendall Coyne Schofield, June Squibb, Kirk Thatcher and YongYea.

Nearly a decade ago, we first met Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, as the adolescent Riley navigated her life. Now, as Riley grows up, she goes through more emotions as her family relocates to San Francisco. Bidding farewell to childhood, Riley now faces a new set of struggles. The audience were already introduced with Maya Hawke’s Anxiety, but the plot gets exciting as she introduces her gang of emotions, Envy, Boredom and Embarrassment, who make things worse inside Riley’s mind.

Director Kelsey Mann hints at the impact of the new character in Inside Out 2 and highlights that Anxiety won’t just simply take a back out. Mann said, “Anxiety might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds."

Inside Out 2 is set to be released on June 14, 2024.
