New Delhi: Actor Jay Bhanushali, who will be next seen opposite Sunny Leone in 'Ek Paheli Leela', has credited his stint on TV for getting back-to-back projects in Bollywood.
Jay, 30, made his debut in Hindi cinema with "Hate Story 2" last year and followed it up with 'Desi Kattey' and now 'Leela'.
"Whatever offers I am getting in Bollywood, they are due to my past work on TV. I made my debut with 'Hate Story 2' after my director (Vishal Pandya) spotted me at 'Dance India Dance' (DID).
"Similarly, I got the offer to star in 'Leela' after Ahmed Khan (one of the judges on DID) suggested my name to his brother Bobby Khan for the film. I owe my career in films today to my career on TV. I am happy and proud that I am from TV," Jay told PTI.
In 'Ek Paheli Leela', Jay is playing the character of a musician opposite Sunny. "I play a musician in the film. His past is creating some trouble and how he gets out of it is the story of the film. There are two more male characters (Rajneesh Duggal and Mohit Ahlawat) in the film and all of them are interlinked. I opted for the role because I haven't played anything as such in my career," he said.
Jay said working with Sunny was a fantastic experience. "I loved working with her. She is a fantastic co-star and very professional on sets. She is extremely hardworking," he said. Asked if he has bid adieu to his career on TV now that he is busy with his film commitments, Jay said, "I haven't left TV. I have promised myself that in a year at least I will host a reality show. TV gives you maximum fan following and I don't want to dishearten my fans."
