Mumbai: Music composer Vipin Mishra, who has composed the background music of 'Ghayal Once Again' said that themes from the first film have been carried forward in the sequel.

"He (Sunny Deol) was keen and I agreed with him, that we should have some of the themes which were there in the original 'Ghayal' which should be carried forward.

"I saw the film and there were two very clear cut themes which stood out, so we have those set of themes retained. It's obviously changed in terms of the arrangements, orchestrations, tempo and key," Mishra said on Thursday.

He said he was composing the music of a film directed by his friend Vivek Chauhan, when the latter suggested he meet Sunny Deol.

That is when Mishra and Sunny Deol got talking about the importance of background music. And a few days later, he was signed for the film,

"Most of the score was based on Sunny sir's narration. He has the huge advantage of being an actor and director in this film. When an actor narrates the film, you get a much clearer picture of the emotional quotient and him being the director, he stitched the story together as well."

"So the narration, which was almost one and half hour long, personally one on one without the writers, was a huge contributing factor," he added.

Mishra, who formed a band in college and then joined the band Parikrama as a guitarist, had even worked for multimedia companies and with Mohit Chauhan's former band Silk Route.

He later composed for numerous commercials before getting the opportunity to work on films such as 'Aurangzeb', 'Let's Dance', 'Aloo Chat', 'MP3' among others.

He had even won the National Award for a non-feature film, 'Narmeen' in 2010.

"The lose line-up was ready for me to see. We decided that the sound of the score should be a grand, big western orchestral sound and we decided to stick to the genre, you don't run around changing genres."

"The score was written before the film was edited, we worked on multiple pieces and back-up pieces of what we thought would communicate the mood of the film throughout different stages, and we took all those pieces and we got a symphonic orchestra," he said.

The music of "Ghayal Once Again" has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
