Actor Emraan Hashmi praised director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for taking bold creative risks, which set 'Animal' apart from previous films.

Last year, Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” created a cinematic sensation, smashing box office records and becoming a hot topic among film enthusiasts. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie captured widespread attention, boosting the cast’s fame despite some mixed reviews. Among those impressed by the film was Emraan Hashmi, who recently shared his admiration for “Animal” and expressed a desire to have been part of it.

In a candid interview with Instant Bollywood, Emraan Hashmi opened up about his thoughts on “Animal.” When asked if there was a particular movie he wished he could have been involved in, Hashmi took a moment to reflect before naming “Animal.” He admitted, “Despite the backlash and mixed opinions, I really enjoyed it and would have loved to be a part of it.”

Hashmi acknowledged the criticism directed at the film but emphasised his perspective as an audience member. He noted, “I understand the reasons behind the backlash, but I generally watch films from the audience’s point of view. There were certainly questionable elements, but Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s unique vision and execution were noteworthy.”

The actor praised Vanga for taking bold creative risks, which set “Animal” apart from previous films. He commended the director for daring to be different and expressed his appreciation for the film’s distinct approach. This isn’t the first time Hashmi has spoken highly of “Animal.” On Subhankar Mishra’s podcast, he described Ranbir Kapoor’s performance as “commendable,” especially for portraying a complex character with gray shades convincingly.

While Hashmi doesn’t often delve into many films, he made an exception for “Animal,” recognising Kapoor’s exceptional performance. He praised Kapoor for his ability to embody a challenging role with such intensity and conviction.

Currently, Emraan Hashmi is preparing to make his Telugu debut in Sujeeth’s action thriller, “They Call Him OG.” His last appearance was in the TV series “Showtime”.
