Congress Leader Priya Dutt Pays Tribute To Baba Siddique, Says, 'He Was Family'

The shocking murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique has deeply affected both the political world and Bollywood. Baba Siddique was known for his close relationships with many Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. His strong bond with the Dutt family, in particular, had a long history. Siddique’s friendship with Bollywood began with Sanjay Dutt’s father, Sunil Dutt. The two were very close, and Sunil Dutt treated Siddique like a son.

After Sunil Dutt passed away, Baba Siddique continued his close ties with Sanjay Dutt and his sister, Priya Dutt. The Siddique and Dutt families were often seen together at family gatherings and Iftar parties. Baba Siddique was a strong support for Sanjay Dutt during his legal battles under the Arms Act, standing by him in tough times. He also helped Priya Dutt when she entered politics, guiding and supporting her through her journey.

Upon hearing about Baba Siddique’s death, Sanjay Dutt was among the first to visit Lilavati Hospital. Congress leader Priya Dutt also expressed her grief on social media and paid her tribute. She wrote, “Today, I’m shaken by the news of Baba Siddique’s tragic death, it has shocked me. Baba was more than a political associate; he was family. To my father, Baba Siddique was like a son, and to me, he was a brother and a dear friend. Throughout my father’s political journey and beyond, he stood steadfastly, by his side. When I entered politics, he guided me through its ups and downs, offering his unwavering support. His loss feels like the departure of a family member. My heart bleeds for Bhabhi, Zeeshan, and Arshia. May God grant them the resilience to bear this immense sorrow. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Farewell, dear brother.”

In addition to his bond with the Dutt family, Baba Siddique played a key role in mending the relationship between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors had a fallout in 2008 at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. However, during Baba Siddique’s 2013 Iftar party, he brought them together, helping them reconcile and end their long-standing feud.
