The South Korean network TVING has shared exciting new stills of Kim Mu-yeol, who will play Guksang Eulpaso in drama Queen Woo.

The Queen Woo is generating excitement among K drama lovers even before its release, thanks to its star studded cast and gripping storyline. The South Korean network TVING recently shared exciting new stills of the lead actors, Jeon Jong-seo and Kim Mu-yeol, giving fans a first look at their characters. Jeon Jong-seo, who plays the queen, looks intense in her role. On the other hand, the latest still features actor Kim Mu-yeol who will play Guksang Eulpaso, the top official of Goryeo. As a high ranking politician, he reportedly is given the task of defending the palace after the king’s unexpected death.

The upcoming drama follows the character of queen Woo Hee, played by Jeon Jong-seo. Following the sudden demise of King Gogukcheon, Woo Hee becomes a target for five rival tribes and a prince eyeing for the throne. Despite being knowledgeable, she is manipulated by her own clan and struggles to find a new king within 24 hours. Amidst the power struggle, Woo Hee shows her true identity, which was hidden behind her royal disguise.

Meanwhile, Kim Mu-yeol’s character plays a crucial role in maintaining stability and has the potential to change the fate of the kingdom. Known for his knowledge about the political tensions among the tribes, Eulpaso comes up with a proposal to marry Queen Woo Hee to prevent a potential war for the throne. During his time together with the queen, he discovers the truth behind the king’s death and becomes a supporter of Woo Hee.

Sharing Mu-yeol’s stills from The Queen Woo on Instagram, the network wrote, “Someone who firmly holds power with exceptional strategy. First stills of the greatest strategist of Goguryeo, ‘Eulpaso,’ revealed. Action historical drama, Queen Woo will be exclusively released on TVING on August 29."

The network has also dropped an intriguing teaser for The Queen Woo to introduce its characters and battle sequences. The teaser also hints at Queen Woo Hee’s vulnerability as well as strength. She is shown fighting against the enemies to protect the throne.

Directed by Jung Se-kyo, the historical drama is scheduled to release on August 29.
