THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Yachai Rampana’ and ‘Kilimo Takas’ are not Greek or Latin, but Spanish and Lithuanian. Yachai Rampana, a Spanish term meaning ‘moving knowledge’, is what Beatriz Quispe from Peru has named her dream project that she worked out at the International Institute for Social Entrepreneurship (IISE). The Yachai Rampana project introduces an Edubus to reach the rural areas of Peru with accessibility devices and training on daily living skills for the visually challenged people. Once Beatriz graduates from the IISE, this is the project that she will be establishing in her home country. So is the case with Vygandas Raukstas from Lithuania, who will be working on her dream project Kilimo Takas, which envisages a centre for the orphaned children in Lithuania. This centre aims at the holistic development based on an innovative curriculum.Beatriz, Vygandas and 13 others, who launched fifteen innovative social projects, will graduate from the IISE at Vellayani on Saturday. Dr Ingo Karsten, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, and former Ambassador of India T P Sreenivasan would be the guests of honour at the Graduation Day. The third batch of IISE students, representing the continents of Africa, Europe, North and South America and Asia, had completed their dream speeches on the IISE campus a few days earlier and streamed them live globally to a 1,000-strong audience from around the world. The project themes ranged from education, health and women empowerment to ICT.R V G Menon, Meera Shenoy, Sankar Mohan, Dr Suresh Das, D Babu Paul, Suchithra Narayan, Sajith Wilson and Dr Elmar were the members of the jury evaluating the project proposals and speeches. Apart from them, Ranjith Kumar, Gopinath Menon and Christopher Ledue from USA, Mathew Mc Ghare and Hakkao from Beijing, Karl and Cornelia from Germany, Sudheer Sankar and Nalini Desakan from Bangalore, Ajai from Lucknow and Sushama Anand from Kochi were the prominent online juries. The graduation day function starts at 4.30 pm on the IISE campus, Vellayani.
