GULBARGA: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa left for Chattisgarh in a special flight from Bidar Airport at 5 pm to discuss with his Chattisgarh counterpart Raman Singh on clearing problems in establishing thermal power plant.
Official sources from Bidar confirmed Yeddyurappa's departure to Chattisgarh. The sources said MLC Lehar Singh, too accompanied the CM. Yeddyurappa addressed the press at Melakunda, near here, that he would meet his Chattisgarh counterpart on Sunday and request him to clear the hurdles in starting a thermal power plant in Chattisgarh, for which the Union Environment Minister has not given permission. "We will make all efforts to provide sufficient power to the state and are even ready to import coal at higher rates for this purpose," he said.
