BANGALORE: In a move that could leave the BJP leadership red-faced, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa opened his own office in the city to meet people and address their grievances. Yeddyurappa’s new office has been set up in the same building, which earlier housed the state BJP office before it moved to its own building last year. This building was considered lucky for the BJP. Yeddyurappa has also decided to vacate the government bungalow on Race Course Road, where he is currently staying. He will be living in his own house at Dollar’s Colony from June 1. His sudden decision has triggered speculations in the political circles, and many believe that it is the beginning of Yeddyurappa’s new political innings outside the BJP. The former CM, however, refused to attach any political significance to his decision. “There is no need to attach any political significance to this. Since I am vacating my Race Course Road residence on June 1, I felt the need to have an office to meet people and listen to their grievances,” Yeddyurappa said, after visiting his new office at Malleshwaram 17th Cross. The office will be inaugurated on Friday. Yeddyurappa has invited all ministers and MLAs of his camp, his supporters and well-wishers for the inauguration. Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, state BJP president K S Eshwarappa and his detractors have not been invited. New Found AdmirationA week after heaping praises on Sonia in public, Yeddyurappa has put up a photo of the AICC president sharing dais with him, at his new office. Barring the photo of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, no other BJP leader’s photo is seen there.
