KOCHI: Protesting against the anti-social activities of the Nigerian students living in the Housing Board Colony opposite the NGO Quarters in Thrikkakara, the members of the Youth Congress took out a march demanding the students to shift their lodgings. YC Thrikkakara West mandalam committee president Sherif Vazhakkala said: “These students have become a threat to the families living opposite their flat. The nuisance begins usually at the night. They start abusing women once they become drunk. Also, they stand undressed in the corridors creating an atmosphere of insecurity in the colony.” This issue has been going on for the past two months. Sherif said, “There are at least 100 Nigerian students; most of them have come to attend a Shipping Technology course at a private college in Kizhakambalam. We are asking them to shift their residence because the complaints have become frequent.’’
