Mumbai: Director Anil Sharma says that though he is making a sequel to his 2001 superhit film 'Gadar', he is not doing it just for the sake of money.
'Gadar', a romance-action-drama set against the backdrop of partition, starred Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel and turned out to be a blockbuster.
"I have been hearing this news about 'Gadar' sequel... I also want to make it. That will be a good business proposition. I know when I make it there will be curiosity among audience," Sharma said at the first look launch of his upcoming directorial venture 'Singh Saab The Great' starring Sunny Deol.
"After 100 years also people should remember the film. For the money sake I will not make 'Gadar' sequel. I don't want to go into it (Gadar sequel) until and unless I get a good script," he added.
According to Sharma, 'Gadar' was the first film to have crossed Rs 100-crore mark at the box office and in today's time it will be Rs 1,000 crore.
Talking about 'Singh Saheb The Great', Sharma said, "I did my first film 'Gadar' with Sunny. I found him sincere, serious and logical. He likes good cinema. I think the credit for good cinema goes to him (Sunny)."
The director-actor duo has worked together in movies like 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy', 'Apne'.
