Srinagar: A woman constable was killed and three police personnel and a civilian were injured in a grenade attack by militants at the crowded Naaz crossing on Monday.
Militants lobbed a grenade at a police vehicle while it was passing through the area at around 1330 hrs (IST), officials said.
The grenade landed inside the Gypsy and exploded, causing serious injuries to four constables of Jammu and Kashmir police, besides a civilian passerby.
The area was immediately cordoned off and the injured were rushed to hospital, where a woman constable identified as Gulshana was declared brought dead, they said.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the grenade attack, the first in the Valley after the start of the holy month of Ramazan on Monday.
