Guruvayoor (Kerala): After the Sabarimala temple controversy last year in which Kannada actress Jayamala claimed she had entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, this time it is playback singer K J Yesudas who is getting flak for seeking to enter another temple is Kerala.
Yesudas, who is a Christian, has been invited to sing in the Gururvayoor Shri Krishna Temple. But according to temple traditions, non-Hindus are forbidden entry into the temple.
Meanwhile, Devaswom Minister G Sudhakaran has asked the Guruvayoor Devaswom officials to allow Yesudas to enter the temple.
The minister's request will be tabled at a meeting between the Devaswom Board and the chief priest.
I have sent a fax to Devaswom officials requesting them to allow K J Yesudas get darshan,” says G Sudakaran, Minister for Devaswom.
