CHENNAI: The Chennai Auto Ancillary Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Company (CAAIIUC) held an interactive meeting with the unit holders of the Ambattur Industrial Estate on Saturday, to discuss  various issues including stop sending treated water into Cooum river and Korattur lake. Infrastructure problems in the area and measures taken towards it were also discussed at the meet, which was the third review meeting after the induction of the new team heading CAAIIUC.Several industries have been sent notices by the TNPCB regarding the Supreme Court directives on pollution. Office bearers of the CAAIIUC were present at the meeting. Chairman Dilip Kumbhat said that the aim of the meet was to get the unit holders’ feedback on ways to better the estate area. He also introduced the new member of the board, Sai Satyakumar.Kumbhat highlighted the projects that had been undertaken since the last meeting, which included the completion of three new modern bus shelters on 3rd Main Road, and the Sulabh pay and use toilet near the bus stand which had been inaugurated recently.District Environmental Engineer, R Ramasubbu, was present, as the main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the environ hazards and methods of waste disposal from the estate.
