New Delhi: Kamal Haasan and his films have in the past courted controversies. Haasan's film's have offended religious sentiments in 'Hey Ram' as well as 'Dashavataram'. But writer-director-producer-actor Haasan has always used films as a medium to express his believes.
The maverick filmmaker-actor's latest offering, 'Vishwaroop' is based in New York and deals with war, politics and terrorism. Rahul Bose plays Omar, a member of the terror outfit Al-Qaida who is plotting to bomb half of New York while Haasan plays Vishwanath who is an undercover RAW agent but who lives under the garb of a effeminate Kathak teacher. The film also featured filmmaker Shekhar Kapur in a pivotal role while Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah play the female lead.
There are always huge amount expectations from Haasan's films; with or without any controversy around them. The versatile actor, time and again, has delivered some brilliant, engaging and entertaining films which have been appreciated by critics and masses alike. His films usually have strong messages and make the audience think.
So will 'Vishwaroop' be any different? Will it be able to match up to the expectations of Haasan's fans? Does the film propagate any ideology which is anti religion?
