HYDERABAD: Following a court directive, Nallakunta police on Saturday registered a case against actress Vidya Balan for her 'indecent' role in the recently released film The Dirty Picture."We will investigate into the case as per court directions and submit a comprehensive report to the court, M Suman Kumar, inspector, Nallakunta said. They would take into account various posters of the film pasted around the Nallakunta localityThe Fourth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sridevi, on December 7, had directed the city police to register a case against Vidya Balan for her obscene role in the film, investigate and submit a comprehensive report by December 30.The directive came after Sai Krishna Azad, an advocate in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, filed a petition on November 29 taking exception to Balan's character, said to be inspired by South Indian actress Silk Smitha.Police filed cases against Balan under IPC section 292 (printing of grossly indecent pictures), IPC section 294 (obscene acts and songs) and under section the Indecent Representation Of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
