HYDERABAD: Miss India Universe, 2011 Vasuki Sunkavalli has donated Rs 50,000 to students of Mahboobia Government Girls High School, Hyderabad, for their education. She is now the chief executive officer of the International Human Rights Association (IHRA), AP chapter.Speaking at the chapter’s inaugural here on Monday, Vasuki said she had always wanted to work for the protection of human rights of the vulnerable section of the society. The IHRA, AP chapter will launch campaigns against dowry and aid the differently-abled apart from extending financial help to AIDS victims in the state.The international human rights association will select 50 class X girls studying in government schools to donate books, uniforms and assist them with tuition fees for this academic year, Sunkavalli said, adding, plans are afoot to start campaigning against caste discrimination in both rural and urban areas. Chairman of the IHRA, AP Chapter Tameem invited the public to join the cause and contribute for it. Regional director Katikala Rajesh, vice-chairman Karan S Bhangay and general secretary Arrar Samah were also present at the press conference.
