'Using Dead Militants to Appease Voters': Omar Hits Out at Mehbooba After She Visits Militants’ Homes
On Thursday, Mehbooba again visited the families of militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

New Delhi: The latest tweet by Omar Abdullah against Mehbooba Mufti seems to have ended their Twitter bonhomie.

National Conference’s Omar Abdullah went all guns blazing against PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti after she visited the restive south Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the kin of the militants allegedly harassed by the security forces.

“The architect of “Operation All-out” & the overseer of the operations that killed hundreds of militants since 2015 is now going from one militant home to the next trying to rehabilitate a badly damaged reputation,” Omar tweeted.

On December 31, 2018, Mehbooba, who has been known for her ‘soft-separatism’, visited militant hotbed Pulwama and said that she “would not allow bloodshed in South Kashmir or let it become a battleground”.

There, she visited the sister of a suspected militant who was reportedly beaten up by the police.

She also urged the Governor Satya Pal Malik to take action against the police officials and to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.

“She used militants by sanctioning their deaths to appease the BJP and now she uses dead militants to try to appease the voter. Just how gullible does she think people are?” Omar said in another tweet.

On Thursday, Mehbooba again visited the families of militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

In November 2018, the PDP tried to form the government with the support of the Congress and the NC, but the Governor chose to dissolve the state Assembly.

A twitter banter at that time between Mehbooba and Omar had been the center of attention as the two arch-rivals posted in solidarity with each other.

Before forming a coalition government with BJP, Mehbooba was known for her ground work and visiting the families affected by militancy.
