New Delhi: With massive protests by many Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services aspirants against the alleged bias against Hindi and other regional languages rocking the national capital, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh on Friday said the matter will be resolved in a week when a high level committee will submit a report on the UPSC exam row.

Sharad Yadav, a politician from the Janata Dal (United) party said," the minister in-charge assured the house and protesting students of a solution by next weekend."

"Government will take a call within a week after a committee submits its report," said Rajiv Shukla, a Congress leader.

The issue reached Parliament on Friday with Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjuna Kharge appealing for suspension of the Question Hour. The Rajya Sabha, too, witnessed repeated adjournments over the matter.

The CSAT-II paper carries questions on comprehension, interpersonal skills including communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision-making and problem-solving, general mental ability, basic numeracy, and English language comprehension skills (of Class X level).

Students have been objecting to the level of aptitude and English language questions being asked in the examination claiming they are much above the standard prescribed for the examination.
