Shamli: Two motorcycle-borne men allegedly threw acid on four sisters in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening. The men allegedly used a water gun for carrying out the acid attack.
The four sisters were attacked while they were returning home after completing invigilation work at an inter college. All the four were invigilating at Hindu Inter College for the intermediate examination in Shamli district's Kandhla town.
As soon as they reached near Kandhla canal, two men on a motorcycle approached the sisters. Both the men, who had covered their faces with helmets, were carrying water guns which they used to throw acid on the girls. The duo fled after the acid attack.
Three of the sisters have received severe burn injuries and have been referred to Delhi for better treatment by the local doctors, the fourth sister has received minor burn injuries.
While police officials reached the attack spot soon after getting the information, they failed to apprehend the attackers.
