CHENNAI: Two senior citizens were arrested on Thursday in two separate cases for allegedly raping a teenager and misbehaving with a five-year-old girl.In a case reported at Vyasarpadi, police said they arrested Daniel (69) after the father of a 15-year-old girl lodged a complaint that the old man had raped his daughter. Upon interrogation, it was revealed that he had taken the girl behind a bush and had allegedly raped her, police said, adding that the girl then rushed home and informed her parents about it.In another case in Tambaram, police said they arrested grocery shop owner Pichai (73) for allegedly misbehaving with a five-year-old girl. He had lured the girl to his shop by giving her a chocolate and had allegedly misbehaved with her, police said. The girl then escaped from the shop after biting his hand, since none came to her rescue despite her cries for help, sources said. The girl informed her mother and a complaint was filed.Unidentified Man Found DeadThe body of an unidentified man was found lying in a pool of blood in an under-construction building at Pallikaranai on Friday. Police said the man had a cut injury on his head that was suspected to have been caused by an iron rod.Man Held for Drunken DrivingA 45-year-old man was arrested for driving in an inebriated condition and injuring four persons in Anna Square police limits on Thursday. Police said Ramesh of Ennore was under the influence of alcohol when he knocked down three two-wheelers, injuring Suresh (27), Ajay (26), Thameem Ansari (23) and Varun. They were admitted to hospital and Ramesh was arrested, police said.
