THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Nedumangad Police on Wednesday arrested three more persons allegedly behind the twin murder at Aramkal, near Karakulam. The police identified them as Sabu Lawrence, 23, of Vettikonam, Vishnu alias Manichan, 23, of Vazhayila and Ratheesh, 25, of Manikanteswaram, who have been indicted as the third, sixth and seventh accused respectively. The police had a day ago arrested the prime accused in the case, Prince, 19, of Vettikonam. He was produced before the court on Wednesday and remanded in judicial custody. The police said that the accused were arrested from Nettayam by a police team led by DySP Mohammed Shafi and CI Suresh of Nedumangad circle following a tip-off. With these arrests, the total number of persons nabbed by the police has reached eight. As many as four wanted men are still on the run. The gang had hacked and bludgeoned to death two notorious criminals, Kokkode Shyam and Praveen, during the night of October 5. The murder was the culmination of a dispute that arose between the victims and the accused relating to the sale of a second hand motorcycle.
