HYDERABAD: Telangana Telugu Desam Forum has launched a pamphlet campaign as part of its Telangana movement. The two-page pamphlet exposes Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti while asserting that the TDP is committed to statehood for Telangana.The pamphlet narrates how the Congress has ‘hoodwinked’ the people of Telangana right from 1969 till now and blames the TRS for its failures in carry forwarding the movement.Speaking to reporters on Thursday, TDP leader K Srihari pointed out that Union home minister P Chidambaram had told visiting Congress MPs in Delhi recently that Congress did not make its stand on Telangana clear and wanted them to raise the matter with the AICC president. “This is nothing but deceiving the people once again,” Srihari alleged.He demanded that the Congress announce its stand on the statehood demand. The TRS too ignored the separatist movement but was targeting the TDP to weaken the party which had striven for the welfare of the weaker sections in the region, he alleged. “The aim of our campaign is to expose the Congress and bring pressure on the Centre to carve out a separate Telangana state,” Srihari explained.TTDF convener E Dayakar Rao claimed that Telangana leader Jayashankar, who died a couple of days ago, was a fan of TDP founder NTR and blamed the TRS for attacks on TDP leaders who wanted to pay tributes to Jayashankar in Warangal.“The TRS is hatching conspiracies against the TDP in an organised manner in a bid to weaken it in the region,” another senior leader T Devender Goud alleged.ROW OVER NEW IN-CHARGES: Notwithstanding the TTDF’s claims that they were committed to the Telangana cause, a large number of party workers from Parigi gathered near party chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence on Thursday opposing the proposal to appoint an incharge for the party unit of Parigi Assembly constituency which is being represented in the Assembly by K Hareeswar Reddy. As Hareeswar Reddy is moving closely with suspended MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy, the party leadership is planning to appoint an in-charge for Parigi to checkmate Hareeswar Reddy. Wanting to know why Naidu was appointing in-charges for constituencies represented by TDP MLAs, Nagam alleged that the plan thoroughly exposed Naidu. Naidu did not even mention Jayashankar as a Telanganite in his condolence message, Nagam added.
