New Delhi: Santa Claus is a part of popular folklore, but tracking Father Christmas has been a high-tech affair for many years now with Google playing an active role.
This year Google is tracking Santa Claus' journey across the globe, as he hops from one location to another delivering millions of presents via Google Maps on google.com/santatracker. As this story is being posted Santa is in India and by the time you read it, he would be in some other part of the world.
Google has also launched an Android app for its Santa-tracking endeavour, as well as a Chrome extension and the Google Santa Tracker app can also be used to stream to your living room television via Chromecast.
But Google isn't the only one tracking Santa. Microsoft and North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) also have a Christmas treat where visions of sugar plums can be augmented by a check on the fat man's progress around the globe on Christmas Eve.
