KOZHIKODE: Vayappadachi Rafeeq, 28, of Panur, who is a prime suspect in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case, has surrendered before Kozhikode Rural SP T K Raj Mohan and the police have taken him into custody. The police said that Rafeeq handed over the Innova car to the killer gang headed by Sunilkumar alias Kodi Suni. After the murder of Chandrasekharan, Rafeeq was absconding. As he is not an accused in the case, his arrest is not recorded yet. Earlier, SIT had issued a look-out circular against Rafeeq. He is a convict in the case of kidnapping a businessman in 2009 along with Kodi Suni. The arrest would be recorded on Thursday.Bail RejectedMeanwhile, Vadakara First Class Judicial Magistrate M Shohaib rejected the bail pleas filed by CPM Orkatteri local committee member Padayankandi Raveendran and Kunnummakkara local committee member K C Ramachandran, who were earlier arrested in the case. The court remanded Raveendran in judicial custody and Ramachandran in police custody for one day. Raveendran and Ramachandran complained before the court that the police had manhandled them during the interrogation. The duo underwent a medical examination at Vadakara Taluk Government Hospital and the court allowed Raveendran to get further treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The court also dismissed the bail plea filed by CPM Thalassery area committee member P P Ramakrishnan, also arrested in the case. Ramakrishnan is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College as he had fallen sick in the jail.
