VIJAYAWADA: The state government will not keep quiet if Telangana NGOs take the law into their own hands, revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy has said. Referring to the threat of Telangana NGOs to Seemandhra employees, the  revenue minister on Sunday said everyone has the right to protest in a democratic manner. But they should not violate the democratic norms.Speaking to newsmen here, he said the state government launched Sagu Rythu Rakshana Hastham scheme for the first time in the country for the benefit of tenant farmers. It also issued loan eligibility cards to tenant farmers to free them from the clutches of village moneylenders. The Union Government and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development lauded the initiative of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to safeguard the interests of tenant farmers, he said.Under the Sagu Rythu Rakshana Hastham scheme, loans have been sanctioned to over 6 lakh tenant farmers in the state. In Krishna district, a sum of Rs 10 crore was lent to 4,000 tenant farmers.Raghuveera Reddy said to avoid delay in implementation of welfare programmes due to agitation of Telangana employees for the cause of separate state, a green channel was opened. Steps were taken to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the beneficiaries directly, he said. Minister for secondary education K Parthasarathi and others were also present at the news conference.
