TIRUMALA: All is set for the annual nine-day Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara which will start with Dwajarohanam on Thursday.As many as 10 lakh people, including five lakh on Garuda Seva day, are expected to throng the shrine.Roads and streets of Tirumala and ghat road were repaired and cleaned. All welcome arches were white washed and the Vahanams used in the service of Lord were cleaned and polished. The TTD had opened additional three-biometric ticket counters, including one at Srivari Mettu, for the benefit of those trekking the hills.Unprecedented security has been provided with DGP, who during his recent visit to Tirumala had assured deployment of additional police personnel. With chief minister Kiran Kumar visiting Tirumala on Thursday to offer Pattu Vastrams to the Lord, security has been beefed up.The TTD for the first time is maintaining a buffer stock of 6 lakh laddus. While two lakh laddus will be prepared by TTD contract potu, the remaining will be prepared by TTD potu workers.All darshan queue lines have been spruced up and necessary arrangements for supply of water, tea, butter milk and snacks for the waiting pilgrims have been made. Giant LED TVs and screens have been put up in front of the temple for the live telecast of Brahmotsavams. With several tonnes of flowers imported from across the country and abroad along with floral donations from devotees, the garden department has decorated the temple in and out with flowers. It has also prepared six mythological theme based floral contraptions. Every day 2 tonnes of flowers will be used.
