Three youths drown at Sangam

BANGALORE: Three persons including, a 12-year-old boy, drowned at Sangam, a confluence of rivers, in Sathanur police station limits in Ramanagaram district on Tuesday afternoon.The deceased have been identified as Syed Suaize (12), a class seven student, Syed Zayed  (18) and Syed Shahid (21), all residents of Channapatna.The police said that the trio along with nine other family members had gone to Sangama for an excursion. While playing in the the water, Suaize reportedly lost control and started drowning. Zayed and Shahid also drowned when they tried to rescue him. Their bodies are yet to be fished out from the lake and the police along with fire personnel would carry out the operation on Wednesday.Sathanur police have registered a case in this regard and investigations are on.
