Three persons who were remanded in police custody for gangrape and murder of a girl and for killing her cousin brother in Kurthal village have confessed to the crime, police said on Thursday.
Vinod (22) and his cousin sister (18) were murdered and their bodies were found on June 7 from separate places at Kurthal village under Budhana Police Station here.
Police had arrested five persons, Praveen, Pramod, Harshvardhan, Arvind, and Monu, in this connection.
Out of the five, Praveen, Pramod, and Harshvardhan, who surrendered in court, have confessed during interrogation that they had gangraped the girl and later strangulated her to death, police said. They also confessed killing Vinod when he opposed the crime, they said.
Arvind and Monu are also in police custody.
Vinod went missing on May 31 and his sister since June 4. They were found murdered at separate places in Kurthal village. The girl's body was found in a sugarcane field while the boy's body was found from a well by the police who then registered a case against five persons.
