Mumbai: Gandhian organisations have resorted to the novel move of selling the Mahatma's autobiography at a substantial discount outside theatres screening the film Lago Raho Munnabhai.

Mumbai Sarvodaya Mandal and Gandhi Book Centre have been selling 100 copies of the book every day outside Regal Theatre in south Mumbai, its trustee T R K Somaiya said.

Also on sale is a set of five important books selected from Gandhi's 100 volumes. The Selected Works of Mahatma Gandhi and an autobiography of the Mahatma are available for Rs 75 and Rs 15 respectively.

To commemorate Gandhi's 137th birth anniversary and 100 years of the launch of the first satyagraha by him, these organisations have organised an exhibition-cum-sale of 300 titles of the father of the nation that will be available at a 50 per cent discount.

The titles focus on Gandhi's views on politics, religion, economics, education, non-violence, peace, conflict resolution and social change. The books are available in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and south Indian languages.
