CHENNAI: What does the term ‘The Great Indian Kitchen Festival’ bring to one's mind? Exotic dishes, delicious recipes, crockery and cutlery. Watch the guests and celebrities give their culinary skills a shot and all of this coupled with fun frolic. All of this, in addition to better deals, is what Big Bazaar of Future group made happen at the Express Avenue mall on Saturday morning. The fest was inaugurated by popular small screen artiste Durga, who currently features  in Uravugal on Sun TV and Kodimullai on Raj TV. Durga, a good cook herself, along with Chef Sudar, dished out a salad with fruits and pineapples, although she admits, “I actually didn't cook anything at the event because of the time constraint as I had to push off for a shoot in the afternoon. But I really loved the grand black forest cake at the event, it was delicious.” The one dish she wanted to cook was hot vegetable biriyani, she chuckles as she is a vegetarian herself. Incidentally, for Durga, this is her first event at the Big Bazaar outlet at the EA. “I have shopped at Big Bazaar in Vadapalani/Saligramam area though.”The presentation of the appliances was captivating in terms of the arrangement by way of a furnished living room with sofa set and small TV set, dining hall and kitchen, with staff members or volunteers explaining about the offers and deals to customers.
