ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ELEVATED CORRIDOR
The elevated corridor is proposed with an outlay of Rs 2,232 crore. It will en route Paradise Junction – West Maredpally – Kharkhana – Tirumalagiri – Bollaram – Alwal – Hakimpet – Tumkunta – ORR Junction (Shameerpet).
The total length of the corridor is 18.10 km, with an elevated corridor of 11.12 km and an underground tunnel of 0.3 km length. The required land for the corridor is 197.20 acres including 113.48 acres of defense land and 83.72 acres of private land.
According to the officials, once the corridor is operationalised, it will avoid the traffic snarls between Secunderabad and Karimnagar with an improvised transport facility. The commuters are likely to save money with the reduction in the use of petrol and diesel.
The corridor will also pave the way to the ORR Junction without any traffic hurdles. The construction of the elevated corridor will ease traffic problems on the Medchal, Quthbullapur, Karimnagar and Adilabad stretch.
