Take care of Tamil youth in Lanka, DMDK urges CM

CHENNAI: The DMDK on Tuesday appealed to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to take up the plight of Tamils - particularly the Tamil youths in Sri Lanka - with the External Affairs Ministry.Participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address in the Assembly, Deputy Leader of the opposition, Panruti S Ramachandran said the Centre was helping the Sri Lankan government rehabilitate Tamils displaced during the war between LTTE and the Lankan Army. However, several youth were reported missing under mysterious circumstances. He said even now, more than two lakh Lankan army personnel were occupying Tamil areas and Tamils were living like slaves. The CM should take up the issue with  the Central government.
