Swaraj Abhiyan accuses AAP of tearing down its posters
The organisation alleged that posters, banners and communication materials of Swaraj Abhiyan are being "attacked, removed or being torn apart by AAP party workers."

New Delhi: Swaraj Abhiyan, an organisation led by Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, on Sunday accused the AAP of "tearing down" its posters in wards where it is fielding candidates for MCD by-polls.

The organisation alleged that posters, banners and communication materials of Swaraj Abhiyan are being "attacked, removed or being torn apart by AAP party workers."

"Yesterday night, when a volunteer along with a vendor was putting up Swaraj Abhiyan banners in ward 67, Wazirpur, a group of Aam Aadmi Party goons reached the spot and threatened them. Later, they came in a car and then fled away the scene after snatching the publicity materials. At the same time, banners and hoardings put up in other areas of the ward, which is going into a by-poll, were also found torn apart," a statement by the Swaraj Abhiyan said on Sunday.

The organisation also said that they have lodged a compliant at Keshavpuram police station against AAP MLA and local candidate for the MCD polls.

When contacted, AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai declined to comment on the issue.

Swaraj Abhiyan is indirectly supporting candidates for the MCD polls and has initiated a process under which people will choose their own candidates from respective ward.

The AAP too has fielded candidates for by-polls in 13 wards.

Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav tweeted the images of torn banners saying, "Our posters/banners attacked! The way establishment reacted to movement 3 years ago gets repeated. Will meet same fate.

"After Jokepal, Ministers/ MLAs in graft, fake degrees, abusing public funds for politics, now vandalism by goons. Alternate politics?" Bhushan tweeted.

What's your reaction?
