A 24-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, who escaped from Red Hills police station after he was taken there on suspicion, was caught in Bangalore by a special team on Saturday, police said.
On July 6, Gnanendran (24) of Chittoor district in AP was caught on suspicion during a vehicle check at Padianallur, as he was found possessing Rs 2.5 lakh. As he could not explain the source of money, he was brought to Red Hills police station. He jumped off from the first floor of the station and escaped.
Man loses nose in fight
A 24-year-old woman arrested after she allegedly bit her neighbour’s nose following an altercation at Avadi Tank Factory on Friday. Police said they arrested Usha (24) and her brother Thangaraj (28) of Morai near Avadi after she allegedly bit her neighbour Rajendran’s nose.
4-yr-old dies of burns
A four-year-old girl, who suffered burns after hot water spilled on her, died in a hospital on Saturday.
Police said B Kanimozhi (4) of Thiru.Vi Ka Nagar had gone to her uncle’s house at Tiruvallur, where water boiling in a stove spilled on her when a dog pushed the utensil. The girl was admitted to KMCH, where she died on Saturday.
BPO staff loses chain
Sharadha, a BPO staff of Ambattur was walking back home on Friday evening when two bike-borne men snatched her 2.5 -sovereign chain, police said.
Siblings held
Three siblings of a man were arrested after his wife lodged a complaint of dowry harassment at Korattur on Friday.
Police said Ramya, wife of Senthil Kumar of Korattur lodged a complaint with the Ambattur AWPS that her husband had been allegedly harassing her to bring more gold jewels from her parents as he wanted to start a business.
Police said he had already taken 75 sovereigns from her that she got from her parents during marriage.
