JODA: More beds and cabins have been added to the Tata Steel Hospital at Joda with aim to render effective services to the people of the region. The number of beds has been increased to 75 from 53 and cabins from four to six.A new surgical ward has been added with introduction of laparoscopy services.Managing Director, Tata Steel, HM Nerurkar inaugurated the new surgical ward. The additional facility of surgical ward and laparoscopy service will help us to serve the local community and our employees better in the area of health services,” Nerurkar said.Tata Steel Hospital here is a fully-equipped hospital with specialities in paediatrics, gynaecology, medicine, ophthalmology, surgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia and ENT. It is the only hospital in the district with a state-of-the-art ICU and laparoscopy facility.Nerurkar also dedicated a new Rainwater Harvesting Park ‘Aquatica’ at Joda East Iron Mine (JEIM). The project seeks to reverse the groundwater depletion in the mining belt. A large storage-cum-percolation pond (SCP) has been constructed at a suitable location and recharge zones have been identified on southern side of SCP.
