HYDERABAD: The CBI special court on Friday remanded Sunil Reddy, an accused in the Emaar case, to CBI custody till January 30. The special court granted two-and-half days’ CBI custody to Sunil Reddy.Granting Reddy’s custody, the court also directed the CBI to interrogate him between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and between 9.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, in the presence of two advocates and produce him before the court on Monday. Earlier, the investigating agency sought 15 days custody to interrogate Sunil Reddy on various Emaar deals. However, the court granted only two-and-half day custody. The CBI said that Sunil Reddy needs to be questioned about the whereabouts of money collected from T Ranga Rao, director of Stylish Homes Private Limited for the villas of Emaar-APIIC township.During the arguments, Susheel Kumar, counsel for Sunil Reddy, said that the investigating agency arrested Sunil Reddy though he had no role in the case. He stated Sunil Reddy was arrested based on the witnesses of two bank officials -- Y Nageswara Rao, Union Bank of India and Jagadeeswar, manager of State Bank of India. He also stated that the CBI made searches in Sunil Reddy’s house and his lockers in the bank. But the agency could not find any evidence, he said. Meanwhile, Sunil Reddy filed a petition seeking special class room in the Chanchalguda Central Prison. The court posted the hearing to January 30.
