Students demand hostels

BANGALORE: Undergraduate and postgraduate students of Bangalore University staged a protest on Wednesday during the Academic Council meeting in the Jnana Bharathi campus. On top of their demands was allotment of hostels to students who have secured seats, shouting “We want hostels”. “This has been a recurring problem since 2007. Fifteen of my classmates have left the course as they did not have a hostel,” said Maruti, a final year Political Science Students also demanded that distance should have nothing to do with allotment of hostels.
