CUTTACK: A 17-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in an abandoned children’s park near the Railway Institute under GRP limits late on Monday night. The boy, Soumya Ranjan Das, of Yunuspatna was a Plus Two second year Science student of Christ College here. He had been to the college on the day but did not return home even late in the evening. When the family members and friends went on search, they found his motorcycle outside the park and on further checking they found him lying on the ground. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Police said, tubes of Dendrite synthetic adhesive, which is an addictive intoxicant, were found scattered alongside the body. The dark and isolated park is a perfect haunt for the drug addicts. It is likely that the boy had developed addiction to the adhesives. The motorcycle was found intact. Even his mobile phone and other valuables he carried were in place. Though his body bore subtle physical injuries near the neck and chest, prima facie, those could not have led to his death. The body has been sent for postmortem even as the police have registered a case of unnatural death. Some friends of the boy have been picked up for questioning, police said.
