THIRUVANANTHAPUARAM: DYFI state secretary T V Rajesh has asked the government to stop the move towards backdoor appointments to the post of Assistant Information Officer in the Information and Public Relations Department, while the PSC ranklist for the same is getting ready.Rajesh, in a press release issued here on Monday, said that there had been announcements in the department website as  well as newspapers regarding the interview for the appointment of Assistant Information Officers on a daily-wage basis. It was in 2008 that the PSC invited applications to the post. An exam was conducted in 2009 and the short-listed candidates were interviewed on September 13 and 14 at the PSC headquarters at Pattom. While there were 22 vacant posts, 61 persons had attended the interview of whom 39 were in the main list and 22 in the supplementary list.It is at this time the government is making an unusual move. Rajesh alleged nepotism and corruption behind the move and demanded the cancellation of the interview scheduled for October 10 and appointment from the PSC ranklist. In connection with this, T V Rajesh also submitted an appeal before CM Oommen Chandy.
