New Delhi: Police are still clueless about the murderers of television journalist Soumya Viswanathan, who was shot dead in south Delhi Tuesday while she was returning home after a night shift.

"No clue has been found, and it continues to be a blind case for us. The reason behind her murder has also not been established as yet," a police officer said.

Viswanathan, who was working with Headlines Today news channel, was found dead in her white Maruti Suzuki Zen car in Vasant Kunj area around 0330 hrs (IST) on Tuesday.

She was returning from work to her home in Sector-C of Vasant Kunj.

Meanwhile, the police are taking help of two people who have claimed to witnesses in the case.

The man who approached the police Friday "told us that he was going from the road when the first witness, an employee at Punjabi by Nature restaurant, desperately waved at him to stop and then he asked him to call police as he didn't have the mobile," the police officer said.

Earlier, an employee of the eatery, who was returning home on his bicycle, had claimed that he saw the car ramming against the divider. He told the police he saw Viswanathan's head inclined on the right side and the car's engine, air-conditioner and headlights were on.

"The restaurant employee told us that he just saw Soumya (Viswanathan) lying in a pool of blood and didn't know anything about what happened there before," said the officer.

The police is questioning people close to the deceased for any possible clue in the case.
