BANGALORE: BJP corporators had warned retailers across the city to down the shutters till 6 pm on Thursday. Sources said, retail outlets which started operations at 10 am were forced to shutdown after supporters of local leaders barged in and threatened the owners.Vendors at Ulsoor market were forced to vacate the premises by 10 am, while shops and restaurants that opened at 12 noon were threatened of damage to property, if found operating.“We did not threaten people,” supporters claimed.On the other hand, shopkeepers were forced to bear loss as they remained closed all day. Further, shopkeepers at Jayanagar Shopping Complex claimed that each shop had incurred a Rs 10,000 loss due to bandh.
