In a heartbreaking turn of events in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district, the joyous occasion of a wedding swiftly turned into a scene of despair and disbelief. On Wednesday, July 3, amidst celebrations in Ratanpura village, chaos erupted when a groom took his own life shortly after the wedding festivities concluded. The incident unfolded shortly after the ‘baraat’ returned to the village with the 24-year-old groom, identified as Satendra Kumar, and his bride Vinita Kumari.
As preparations were underway to welcome the newlywed bride into the household, Satendra retreated to a room alone. Concern grew as he failed to respond to calls, prompting family members to check on him. To their horror, they discovered Satendra’s lifeless body, clad in his wedding attire, having hanged himself.
The news sent shockwaves through the community, leaving both families and guests in disbelief. According to Mansoor Ahmed, in-charge of Usrahar police station, the police were alerted immediately. Satendra’s body was retrieved and sent for post-mortem examination as authorities launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
Details surrounding the motive behind Satendra’s drastic action remain unclear, leaving his bride, Vinita Kumari, and their families grappling with profound grief and unanswered questions. The abrupt end to what should have been a joyous occasion has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire village.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to Satendra’s untimely death, hoping to shed light on the tragic turn of events that has left a community in mourning.
