THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Some senior advocates practicing in the District Court here may be arraigned as accused in the controversial fake stamp paper case. This was indicated by the prosecutor during the hearing of the bail application of Vijayakumar, an accused in the case, before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, here on Monday. The prosecutor stated that Vijayakumar had the support of some of the senior advocates practising in the District Court. Hence the police needed to arraign them as accused in the case before granting bail to Vijayakumar, who, by profession, is an advocates’ clerk.Earlier, Clarance Miranda, the counsel for Vijayakumar had made a contention that since the police had completed the investigation and collected all the evidence, there is no need to keep Vijayakumar under custody anymore and could be granted bail. The fake judicial stamp papers were first detected among the documents produced before the court for bond execution by two senior counsels V R Rajmohan and B Baburaj.
