Security stepped up at Kochi airport

NEDUMBASSERY: In the light of the terrorist attack on a Pakistani naval base and the reported killing of Pak Taliban leader Mulla Omar, the Central agencies have alerted all major installations, including the Kochi airport, to strengthen security arrangements.
The intelligence agencies hinted that terror groups are likely to target major airports in the country. The Kochi airport has issued a general alert to intensify the security arrangements on its premises. Kochi airport director A C K Nair instructed various security agencies and airlines to keep extra vigil in handling passengers and cargo.
