SC questions Mukesh Ambani's 'Z' category security
Rapping the Centre, the SC said the five-year-old girl would not have been raped if there was proper security in the capital.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday hauled up the government over the flailing security situation in the capital asking what was the need for providing Z-category security to Reliance Industries Limited chairman and CEO Mukesh Ambani when the common man had none.

"Individuals are given security, but what about the security of the common man," the apex court asked. "The 5-year-old child would not have been raped if there was proper security in the capital," it added.

The SC rap comes just a day after it flayed the Centre and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for not sharing the coal scam probe details with it. The SC had called it a "massive breach of trust".

The five-year-old minor is still battling for her life at AIIMS hospital in Delhi. Doctors have said that she will take weeks before she fully recovers.
