Leeds: India's Rupesh Shah prevailed over Peter Gilchrist of Singapore 5-2 to advance to the final of the 150-up format World Billiards Championship, here on Saturday.

Shah started off well as he registered breaks of 133 and 148 for a 2-0 lead but Gilchrist came back, winning the third on a run of 82. However, Shah came back strongly, notching up a break of 145 in the fourth to lead 3-1. The 44-year-old Gilchrist fought back with breaks of 86 and 59 in the fifth. But Shah swept past him with breaks of 64 and 64 in the sixth and 128 in the seventh.
