PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N Rangasamy will be leaving for New Delhi on April 15 for attending the Chief Ministers’ meeting of the National Security council, convened by the Prime minister on April 16.According to information from the Chief Minister’s office, Rangasamy has also planned to call on the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Union Power Minister after the meeting.The Chief Minister will approach the Prime Minister to seek more cyclone relief for rebuilding the infrastructure damaged by cyclone Thane. The centre has extended `125 crore as interim relief after the Puducherry government sought `2450 crore as relief.For enhancing the capacity of the 32 MW gas-based power plant at Karaikal to 135 MW, the Chief Minister is planning to seek additional gas from Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Moreover, he will also follow up on all the pending matters of the administration with the Union Home Minister that include transfer of plan posts to non-plan and additional funds for development.
