PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N Rangasamy paid floral tributes to the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 67th birth anniversary on Saturday. Speaker of the Territorial Assembly V Sabapathy, Ministers and MLAs of the ruling All India NR Congress (AINRC) and lone Congress MLA and former Minister Malladi Krishna Rao were among those present at a government function organised here in this regard.The Chief Minister also administered the ‘Sadhbhavana Diwas’ (Harmony Day) and ‘Akshay Urja Diwas’ (Renewable Energy Day) pledges to all those present at the venue.Prayers and devotional songs were rendered by representatives from the Hindu, Muslim and Christian communities.They also read out scripture portions from their respective religious books.Special blood donation camps were organised and free food packets were distributed on the occasion.
